Igbo men are not unnecessarily autocratic to a fault. What happens is that society heaps a lot resposibility on the Igbo man, stuff he fels that people must physically see him carrying out and nod their heads in approval. However, it's not always so. There still needs to be a lot re-orientation, though.

There clearly is, Chioma. Tell me why you don't think so. Perhaps my opinion may be too subjective. I'll like to hear yours....

I don’t think that Igbo men are worse than any other African man in that connection, why did I say African, because the whites have a distinct attitude. Human right and women right have distorted the way white men take decisions.

Gabriel, there's no pressure on Igbo men cos they are not the only ones who struggle for the family, even their women do,still they don't seem to appreciate it,rather they keep on commanding them as if they're their house help or baby sitters. When you go to Yoruba land, you'll see that most of their women are all stay home mums still their men adore and respect them.

Emmy,Igbo men are worse than other African men in that,An Igbo will always like to be a man all the time, when their wives tell them something, they'll say afterall "I am a man and i can do anything i want to do",they don't feel remorse for any bad thing they do,and that's why you see them cheating from here to there cos their wives does not have a say where they are.
